This Privacy Policy explains how SilverAI JSC (“SilverAI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you and your child use the KidPal mobile application and related services (the “App”).
KidPal is a bedtime-story app designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Purchases, photo uploads, and other sensitive actions are placed behind a parent gate. By using the App you confirm that you are the parent or guardian, that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and that you agree to this Policy on behalf of yourself and your child.
1. Information we collect
a) Information you provide
- Photos. If you choose to create a personalized character, you may add a photo. Photos are downscaled on your device and are uploaded to our story service to generate the illustrated character, then processed by our AI-image provider (Google Gemini). See Sharing and Retention below.
- Character details and story inputs. Character names, chosen themes, moods, story length, art style, and similar creation inputs.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we receive your message and contact details.
b) Information created through use
- Generated content. The stories, illustrations, and narration audio generated for you.
- Subscription and credit status. Whether you have an active subscription, your free-trial state, and your remaining story-creation credits. Payment is processed by Apple or Google — we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- App preferences and settings. Such as language, content region, reduce-motion, and similar on-device settings.
c) Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data. Basic device/OS information, app version, and region/locale used to deliver region-appropriate content and to operate the service.
- Configuration identifiers. We use Firebase Remote Config (Google) to deliver feature and store configuration; this may involve an app-installation identifier as described in Google’s documentation.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not serve third-party advertising in the App, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- generate stories, illustrations, and narration you request;
- provide and restore subscriptions, free trials, and story-creation credits;
- deliver region-appropriate curated content;
- operate, secure, debug, and improve the App;
- respond to support requests; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (providing the App), your consent (e.g., uploading a photo), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the App), and compliance with law.
3. Children’s privacy
KidPal is intended for use by children under the direction of a parent or guardian, and we treat this seriously:
- Account setup, purchases, and photo uploads are gated to require an adult.
- We collect a child’s photo only when a parent/guardian chooses to add one, and we use it solely to generate that child’s story character — never for advertising, profiling, or building a marketing profile.
- We minimize what we collect and retain (see Retention).
- We do not knowingly allow children to make purchases or share personal information publicly.
If you are a parent/guardian and believe your child provided information without your involvement, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the App:
- Story-generation backend (our service provider). Photos, character descriptions, and story inputs are sent to our story service to produce stories, images, and narration.
- AI and media providers (sub-processors). Google Gemini processes story inputs and photos on our behalf to generate content.
- Apple / Google. Handle in-app purchases, subscriptions, free trials, and billing. Their handling of payment data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Google Firebase. Provides Remote Config.
- Legal, safety, and business transfers. We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
A current list of sub-processors is available on request at [email protected].
5. Data retention and deletion
- On your device. Photos you add are stored locally in downscaled form along with your generated stories and settings. You can remove photos any time in the App’s Settings, and you can delete the App to remove locally stored data.
- On our servers. Photos and story inputs sent for generation are automatically deleted within 1 day (24 hours) of generation.
- Deletion requests. To request deletion of information associated with you, contact [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for data sent to our services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other countries where Google and our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of personal information, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK, California, and certain other regions have specific rights under laws such as the GDPR/UK GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any right, contact [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice as required by law. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
